Cookies we set

None. Biosmith does not set any first-party cookies.

Cookies from our hosting provider

Biosmith is hosted on Vercel. Vercel's edge network may set minimal infrastructure cookies for load balancing and security. These are essential for the site to function and cannot be disabled.

What about localStorage?

Biosmith uses your browser's localStorage (not cookies) to store:

• App settings and preferences
• AI assistant configuration (provider, model, API key)
• Plasmid data you load or create
• Construction provenance history

localStorage is different from cookies: it is never sent to servers with HTTP requests. It stays entirely on your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings.

Analytics cookies

None. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Hotjar, or any other analytics service.

Marketing cookies

None. We do not run ads or use marketing tracking pixels.

Third-party cookies

The landing pages load the Inter font from Google Fonts. Google may set cookies via their CDN. The Biosmith web app itself does not load any external resources beyond your configured AI provider.

Cookie consent

Since Biosmith does not set any non-essential cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If this changes in the future (eg if we add analytics), we will add appropriate consent mechanisms before deploying them.
